Andrea Oswald is Union Pacific’s General Director for Procurement Operations and Supplier Diversity. Union Pacific is one of America’s largest railroad companies, connecting 23 states by rail and acting as an essential bridge in the global supply chain. Andrea has been with Union Pacific for over 19 years, where she has learned various leadership, financial modeling, and auditing skills. She is also a board member at Omaha Children’s Museum.
Andrea joins us today to discuss how Union Pacific manages their supplier diversity program and the role she plays. She shares how she wound up joining Union Pacific. She describes how the last two years made them review their diversity programs. She divulges the metrics that need attention to track a supplier diversity program’s performance. Andrea also explains how procurement and supplier diversity intersect.
